Restoration Project Cars, 1972 Karmann Ghia Project
Found this one cool sports classic car come from Germany is a beautiful 2-door coupe that was made by Volkswagen, very well-known as the Karmann Ghia coupe released in 1972 sold as a project asking $1500 located in East Lansing. This car being offered for sale in Craigslist, it could be a perfect start to restore, very solid body frame with a good shape few rust was shown but it not hard to removed.

I purchased this project earlier this summer and haven't gotten to it, and won't before winter... so it's time for it to go.
The good -
- the nose is damage free
- the spare wheel well is solid (surface rust)
- Auto-stick
- Engine spins (haven't tried to start it)
- engine lid has very little rust
- looks like lots of original stuff is still there
- good floors
- rolls
The bad -
- no title (storage facility purchase)
- no key (steering wheel locked)
- windows busted out at storage facility (rear, both driver's side, and hole in windshield)
- back seat is trashed
- rust in the rockers
Overall, I think it is still a solid car that's a good candidate for restoration... just not in the cards for me...
